Today I did some serious meditation on life. After hearing about several friends with loved ones going through serious health problems, I realized I have so much to be grateful for, and sometimes it slips away from my mind how precious life really is. Along with gratitude, I’ve realized that patience, compassion and sensitivity are also really beautiful things, all of which I’m trying to have a bit more of these days. (((((sigh)))))) One day at a time…
Today I vamped up my blog a wee bit. I’ve had a couple of friends and family asking me questions about my blog, my eating habits, etc. and I thought hey why not tell everyone and make it easier. So check out my new FAQ page and let me know whatcha think!
I also realized lately that I might be willing to share more things on my blog than I originally thought I would be open to sharing. I’ve been through a truck load of things in my life. At 27, really?! Yeah, really. I think a lot of people out there can not only relate, but maybe I can offer a wee bit of insight on the lessons I’ve learned, the battles I’ve fought, and what’s really worth fighting for. I’m also willing to get a little feedback and hear what people have to say about it. So in the next few weeks I’m going to share about my previous battle with drugs and alcohol and codependent relationships. WHOA I can’t believe I just blurted that one out. Sheesh. But why not, really? Are they really such hush hush topics that I shouldn’t blog about them on a healthy lifestyle blog? I think not.
With all of that said, I’m on Day 3 of Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Diet Cleanse. Yeeehaw! Here’s a little update…
What do you think I drank today?
I’ll give you a hint… it’s not a frothy, sweet, delicious cappuccino with cinnamon on top. Although it may appear to be. ha!
This glass of yumminess is actually VEGGIE JUICE (with cinnamon on top). YOWZAS! Specifically, I juiced up some cucumber, pear, apple, carrot and rainbow swiss chard (which juices dark brown) and they all left me with this carmel flavored looking beverage. I mixed in some cinnamon to hide any bitterness from the chard, and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Not too bad really.
For breakfast I had a delicious green smoothie with spinach, frozen banana, almond milk, hemp protein and cinnamon (been lovin’ the stuff lately, can you tell?) and for lunch I had a scrumptious baked sweet potato.
I sliced open the sweet potato and topped it with homemade raw cashew butter and unsweetened dried coconut. The cashew butter turned out absolutely fabulous. I got my recipe from Kristen’s Raw blog. <—this girl rocks my socks. Love her.
