A few snips & snails…

Snips & Snails & Veggie Tales. hehe. What do you guys think of my new header? I was kind of sick of the old one. Plus it was super bland and plain. I knew when I named my blog back in November that I’d eventually make a cuter more appropriate header. (I wanted a pic of green high highs sooo badly. Thank you istock you rock my world.) ;)

Today was a loooooong day. But when I finally got home I squealed with delight at the sight of an amazon package waiting for me on the kitchen counter. yeeeehaw! I love amazon. Gosh they are fast. I selected the super saver shipping option and I STILL received my purchases in about 5 days. Love it.
Behold… the latest addition to my constantly-growing-but-still-can’t-get-enough-of-them cookbook collection.
Yeah, Heidi Swanson, she also rocks my world. I have another cookbook of hers called Super Natural Cooking. I’ve used it so many times and have just love love LOVED every recipe, so when I found out she was coming out with a new one, I knew I’d have to grab this lil sucker too. This woman also has a fabulous website, so check it out if you get the chance. This book just came out at the beginning of the month so snatch it up before it disappears! :)
I also snagged Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, by Isa Chandra and Terry Hope Romero. I know this is an oldie, but alas, it was missing from my collection. Also I am needing some cupcake inspiration for my girlfriend’s bridal shower that I’m hosting next month.
So happy to have some fabulous reads for this weekend. (I’m the type of person who will read a cookbook cover to cover before I put it down…strange, I know.) Although, I have TONS of homework and school stuff to bulldoze through as well. My semester is almost over though. Last round of tests and finals are just 2 weeks away! So pumped!
As far as yummy eats go, today I pretty much just noshed on leftovers from yesterday. I did incorporate some new juice though.
I call this… alligator breath ;) Includes: 1 giant broccoli stem, 1 cucumber, 1 red pear, 1 gala apple, topped and swirled with cinnamon. It was quite delish. I enjoyed in on the porch alongside the pool. Florida weather has been so stinkin’ gorgeous lately I can’t complain about a thing.
Except for one thing… Would you believe it that my soon-to-be-ex gym had the cojones (in case you’re unawares that’s spanish lingo for droopy manly bits) to draft money out of my account AGAIN this month!? After all the crazy trouble I have gone through with them!? UGH! I realize gyms are in the business to make money but it is taking me MONTHS to end this relationship. My first phone call was mid February. AND I pre-paid for my last month, so at this point I’m still stuck until the end of May as far as my dollars have been spread. Pretty ridiculous. GRR. Okay enough negativity. I just had to get that off my chest.
My poor kitty was on the porch tonight and got the crap scared out of her by a passing dog. She tried to run inside, but instead banged her poor lil kitty head against the sliding glass door repeatedly in attempt to escape. Although it was mildly amusing at the time, I’m seriously worried that she may have hurt herself because she’s being pretty lethargic :( Has this ever happened to anybody’s pet? :( Worried mama here!
TGIF tomorrow! ~Peace, Love & Veggies
