Currently on my list of “want books” are the following…
and for some reason for each of these I want the real live thing… not gonna settle for a Nook download this time baby. I want to hold it, share it, loan it, read it again, see the pictures, get them messy with batter while I’m cooking, dribble crumbs on them while on the couch reading… you get the idea :)
Super Natural Every Day by Heidi Swanson
This book isn’t actually being released until April, but I can assure you I am already drooling over it. I want I want I want! :) hehe. Heidi Swanson’s books and her blog are amazing! Her book Super Natural Cooking is one of the reasons I became a Vegetarian. She uses all natural ingredients and explores an entire world of flours and baking goods that were previously unknown to me, not to mention tons of other whole grain and veggie concoctions. She is one cool chic.
The Happy Herbivore by Lindsay Nixon
I just started following this talented Vegan Chef’s blog a couple of weeks ago and I’m already hooked! As it turns out she just released this new cookbook a few days ago and I’d love to snatch one up. She is one inspiring chef because she encourages a low fat vegan diet and uses apple sauce and tofu in a lot of her baked goods instead of oil or eggs. Yumm.
Crazy Sexy Diet by Kris Carr
Kris Carr is a Raw Vegan chef, motivational speaker, wellness coach and cancer survivor. I have read some amazing reviews on this new title. She encourages juicing and proper pH balance as part of an overall body cleanse–such cleanses have been known to reverse high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and even cancer. Must. Read. This. Enough said :) Her website rocks too.
Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond
Ree is one of my favorite bloggers and is quite a talented chef. She also has a cookbook out called The Pioneer Woman Cooks. She is very much an omnivore but her books and her blog still ROCK! She is a down to earth and sassy homeschooling mother who lives on a ranch with her cute cowboy husband. She is also quite the animal lover and a wonderful photographer. Her latest book pictured above is the story about how she moved out to farm country from the big city after falling in love with a handsome cowboy :) I think I also like her because I can relate. I’m in sunny metropolitan southwest Florida while my sweeti pie lives at 10,000 feet in the middle of the Colorado mountains in horse country. Yes we are long distance, yes we go back and forth for visits, yes his place is a heck of a lot different then where I’m from, and yes I had to buy cowboy boots after ruining 2 pairs of shoes in manure… but he is certainly sweeping me off my feet. <3 Cute vegan cowboy boots!
