Kale Chips and T-shirt giveaway!

So I’ve decided it’s kale week on Green Food, Green Thumb, High Heels. I’m celebrating the versatility and tastiness of this nutritious green. If you haven’t discovered these little gems yet, you are living in a cave. ;)
Behold, Kale Chips!
There are tons of ways to make these delicious chips. The secret is to cook them just barely until the leaves start to brown. You want them crunchy–not soggy, green–not burnt! Careful does it and you’ll catch on.

Sesame Kale Chips

1 lg. bunch curly kale
1 tbs. sesame seeds
1 1/2 tbs. olive oil
1 tbs. tamari (gluten free soy sauce)
**Preheat oven to 300 degrees
Wash, chop and prep your kale. Chop or tear into bite size pieces and discard the stems. 
Thoroughly dry leaves in a salad spinner or with paper towels. 
Coat leaves in olive oil and tamari. Massage liquids into the leaves using your hands. 
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and lay leaves in a single layer onto a baking sheet. Bake in 300 degree oven for approximately 10 minutes or until outer part of the leaves have slightly browned. 
Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Enjoy!  Print this recipe.

    I love kale! My favorite way to eat it is simple and delightful I like it raw in a big bowl of salad with lot of other yummy veggies.

    Oh my gosh, what a cute giveaway! That's awesome. I LOVE Kale. It's my favorite. I like it raw in salads, steamed, in smoothies, baked in frittatas, made into chips..pretty much every way possible!

    I honestly don't know why I've never tried kale. I guess I grew up in a kale-less family so I'm clueless about what to do with it…until now. Thanks for the recipe and links…it really does look yummy!

    I LURVE me some kale! I love kale chips of course, but I also love Green Monsters and blending it up with split pea soup…it makes the soup a fantastic bright green color that is so fun to eat! :D

    Just last Sunday, while at a restaurant, I cut up my kale garnish and mixed it in with my potatoes and veggies. It was delicious. The only kind of kale chips I've tried are Averie's and they were wonderful.

    I absolutely love kale! I eat kale in a variety of different ways everyday…ill either put it in my green smoothies, have a raw kale salad with veggies, stir fry it, and I've even made kale chips on occasion….my friends think I'm crazy for loving kale so much but I got it's back and defend those greens like crazy!! :)
