kitty lovin’

I’ve realized lately, as I scroll through my newsfeed on facebook, that the majority of my female friends in my age bracket are either a) married b) engaged c) have babies d) preggo or e) some combination of the aforementioned. Congrats to all my friends, I love you dearly, but must every status update/picture/comment be on your new hubby/hubby-to-be/kiddos/baby-to-be? Seriously. (Truthfully, I’ll probably eat my words when any of the above actually happen to me.)

So it’s my turn to gush and post photos and say “Isn’t she adorable!? Click here to vote for her in blah blah blah photo contest… ha I didn’t actually enter my cats in a photo contest. I mean, seriously? Another one? Your kid isn’t even the cutest. Ugh.

Anyway, I have some wonderful lil furries in my life. They make me laugh, make me feel like a mother and more than anything no dirty diapers here! heh. Truthfully, I think pets are a wonderful thing. Companion animals are said to relieve stress and lower blood pressure even. (no kidding?) So call me the crazy cat lady if you must but I had an impromptu photo session with my girls today and I thought I’d share.

As I sit writing this they are both snuggled up together in their kitty bed at the foot of my bed. If only our animals knew how much they truly affect us. Or maybe they do know? Sometimes I look into those big gold eyes and wonder exactly what they’re thinking… I guess I’ll never know for sure. What I do know is that I can’t imagine my life without my girls and it sounds like such a silly thing to say… I mean they are just cats right? But no, they are my cats, my companions… and I’m attached.
Btw I think “crazy cat lady” doesn’t come into play until you have a minimum of 5. But that’s just me. lol
